I've done the research & I swear I am now on a watch list somewhere. Seriously I really do only want to grow the edible kind... Portobello, shiitake, oyster. I think that as a beginner a kit is the way to go. Once you become more skilled there are other methods (cheaper of course, but more labor intensive) it requires logs & a lot of patience!!!
I am thinking about getting this for a fall/winter growing project. I have enough on my plate with the outside gardens right now!!!
