Monday Update and POWA

Parade of WEEKLY adventures!

We spent the entire weekend partying! Between our communities Fall Festival, football, the festival's parade and more.

Most of the kids activities were a wash due to the rainy weather, but they still had 2 party jumpers and some carnival games. We only had a small window of fun time on Saturday because of the Prince's football game, but they managed to get filthy and bounce them selves silly!

The parade on Sunday was a huge success, except for the rain again. It had fire departments, cheerleaders, football players (mine!), marching bands, Shriners, horses, even a float! There were prizes, but we didn't ever hear who won them.

I'm not sure what they are raising money for this year, but the last 2 years the committee made sizable donations to the new playground project (my hubby got the grant to get that ball rolling, so we were invested!).

Weekly Menu Plan
Breakfast for dinner, clean out the fridge night, mystery freezer stuff, spaghetti, hot dogs & burgers. No idea what order, depends on the activities!!!

Busy Week Menu

Aren't we always busy! Well I start my new part time out of the house job, so until I get settled in that I'm sure it will throw a mild curve ball into our routines! Mostly laundry. I'm not sure how, but it seems like I am doing laundry 24-7!

The first football game is Saturday, practice every night. Plus we have to set up our shelter tent for a birthday party on Saturday (friend's house). The Prince starts school on the 3rd, the Princess the 9th.

So my plan for this week is basic & mostly out of the pantry.

Mac & Cheese with tuna and peas

CrackerBarrel's Hashbrown Casserole with meatloaf and a veggie.

Crockpot lasagna I have half a box of oven ready noodles, that's more than enough.

Freakin Awesome Zucchini Pancakes for breakfast night.

Busy Day Csserole with veggies.

I don't have the neighbor's kids this week, but I'm still going to make something for snacks. And I'll have to check the lunch item inventory!!!

I have a pantry list I keep of things I always have on hand, so really the only time I need a plan is when I am trying a recipe & there are things I don't have on hand. That isn't much though!

I got a recipe from this weeks Carnival of the recipes.

Menu Plan Monday 8-18 to 8-24

There were a few items on last weeks menu that didn't get made. Dinners ended up being a grab as you can thing. I think I am going to give myself some slack here & start with a general plan. I shouldn't have to go to the store this week, maybe to grab milk & bread. so we'll use what we have on hand.

Monday - Breakfast for dinner
Tuesday - Inspection day (for babysitting), plus football practice so grilled cheese is probably as in depth as I will get!
Wednesday - Clean out the fridge day #1
Thursday - Pasta something, mac & cheese maybe
Friday - Out, pizza, fish, no idea yet
Saturday - Grill night. We have an early morning football scrimmage, but we will probably stick with hot dogs or burgers.
Sunday - Clean out the fridge day #2 (Monday is garbage day)

Snacks & Desserts
Peanut Butter Cookies with peanuts in them. Before we eat all the peanuts...

Also on the menu for the week
~Eggplant Parmesan - I am going to substitute zucchini. Could be interesting

~Winter Lemon Cake or Chocolate Lava Cake for the crock-pot

Menu Plan Monday

We have family coming in tomorrow so our evening plans can change but if they do I'll just shift the plan!!!

Breakfasts are usually simple, cereal, toast, eggs.
Lunch - leftovers or a sandwich

Monday:
Burgers on the grill, nothing fancy, just burgers!

Tuesday:
Pasta & chicken - I'm not sure how I'll fix it yet, I have a crock pot full of precooked chicken so I'm thinking some kind of cream sauce over penne.

Since the weather is supposed to be rainy here I am going to make a batch or two of these Sweet Potato Yeast Rolls. Probably put a batch in the freezer!

Wednesday:
Sloppy Joes - the ground is already cooked, I just need to heat it in the sauce

Thursday:
Breakfast for dinner, the works eggs, bacon toast.

Friday:
If we don't order out pizza I will make pizza

Saturday:
Graduation Party

Sunday:
Something with what is left of the cooked chicken. It was very good with a Hawaiian BBQ sauce hubby got from work, over rice. Or I might make the Grilled Cheese Sandwich Pie substituting the chicken for the ham.

I loaded my freezer cooking planning software back onto the computer. Hopefully I'll be able to catch another sale on meats & stock up. I'd love to get some ready meals in the freezer, I haven't done precooking in a while. Of course the freezer is badly in need of defrosting. Guess that's going on one of my PODAs for this week (Flylady)

Look Mom no teeth...

Menu Plan Monday 6-16-08

Another Frugal week here.

I did get to the store last week so we managed to pick up some staples.

The crockpot chicken didn't get made. Instead we marinated and grilled the quarters I bought on sale. I have a whole chicken in the freezer to crock pot this week.

What is going to throw a wrench in the plan are the 4 games & a practice we have this week. The only day we have off is Tuesday. The tball game was moved from Saturday to Monday, one was already rescheduled to Wed, baseball practice Thursday, game Friday & tball again Saturday. GOODNESS.

Monday - Tball game - Sandwiches, probably grilled cheese
Tuesday - Crockpot chicken
Wednesday - Tball game - hot dogs & tater tots
Thursday - Mac n cheese or some other quick pasta dish
Friday - Pizza - Homemade
Saturday - Grill
Sunday - lasagna

Menu Plan Monday

Monday: Something simple, I'm thinking breakfast but it's going to be hot and the kids have baseball practice. So could be grilled cheese sandwiches to go!

Tuesday: Homemade pizza

Wed: The Prince has a game at 6 so quick snack and a hot dog at the snack stand is most likely. Today is shopping day, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some decently priced grill food.

Thursday: Crockpot Cream Cheese Chicken

Friday: 2 options a) Grill b) Fish Fry take out. ~ If you need to know anything about a western New Yorker, it's that Friday is for fish fry!

Saturday: 2 games and most likely another grill night

Sunday: Wedding Shower for me and the Princess so hubby and the Prince are on their own

Menu Plan Monday

We signed up for a local walking event that goes for the next 4 weeks so I am trying to plan walking time in around the baseball schedules and everything else we have going on. We took a brief walk this evening, it's about a mile. We are lucky to have a Rails to Trails just up the road from us. It runs all the way to the school so we take it frequently, but tonight we all had our pedometers on! While we were on the road I had a whole wheat pizza crust rising. I am starting to get better at the pizza crust thing, but I'm not deli perfect yet! Lunch was a chicken BBQ hosted by a local fire department. It's one of several annual fundraisers they have so we try to go every year. My Dad paid for us all to go, but then they take most of the leftovers!!!

Then we moved to the school for their annual Fling hosted by the Wellness committee. It was a fun couple hours, the kids played on the new playground & at several other activities & the best part, FREE! I think this has been the first clear and almost warm day since they started, last year it rained. Such is the weather of WNY in spring!!!

I am trying to clean out the freezers, they are just a mess & we need to replace the bulk storage freezer, so there may not be a huge variety in my menu, but it is truly pantry/fridge clean out time! Especially since I am trying to avoid buying as much as possible, just the basics!

Monday - Individual Pizzas (provided by neighbor) for quick before practice meal, hubby & I will eat leftovers 6PM practice Prince

Tuesday - Shells & Cheese - homemade. I just have shells in the pantry, I also have some ham leftover from a spiral ham I bought at Aldi when they had them marked down. I would put in peas but I think I am out & may not get to the store before then. If I don't I will use the broccoli I know I have.

Wednesday - Spaghetti & Meatballs, I have some baby spinach in the fridge I will mince into the sauce, they didn't notice it hte last time (homemade meatballs, jar sauce) Preschool picnic, 5:15 practice Princess

Thursday -Chicken and biscuits, I'll used whatever cream of soup I have and my biscuit baking mix

Friday - Something quick like hot dogs, game night & I'll be yard sale-ing all morning. Baseball Game 6 PM

Saturday - Grill Night, I think Burgers unless I find a good special on some steaks b-day party Prince, tball game Princess

Sunday - No clue! Defeats the purpose of a plan but It will probably be leftover night, unless it's an icky day & I throw together some pizza dough.
