Walgreens #1 Super Savings

I made my first real trip to the new Walgreens (WAGS) Thursday. Since it's a new store I don't think they had gotten in everything in their flyer, which made me toss my list... I did get a rain check for the $1.99 domino sugar.
I left with 3 bags, mostly of school stuff. Can't beat a 10 pack of pens for 9 cents! The only thing I grabbed that wasn't on my list was 2 4 packs of dry erase markers for $1.99. The kids are LOVING the dry erase letter boards I got them, so much so the pens that came with them are drying out. Oh darn, the education... LOL!

I also took advantage of the Pert/Sure rebate that was in the coupon flyer this past weekend. Buy $5 worth of Pert & Sure & $5 of school supplies get $5 rebate by mail.

  • 2 10 pack pens
  • 4 2 packs pink erasers
  • 2 10 pack mechanical pencils
  • 2 4 pack dry erase markers
  • 2 20 pack pens
  • 1 4 pack highlighters
  • 2 index cards
  • 2 packs fill paper
  • 2 pencil sharpeners
  • 4 10 packs sheet protectors
  • 1 6 pack koolaid drinks
  • 1 pert plus
  • 1 sure deodorant
  • 1 degree for men
All for $25.67 after tax. Not too shabby! Most of it was just to stock up. I still have a few things from the list to pick up (they were out of the markers & crayons). They were also out of anything remotely useful in the buy $10 of Kellogg's get $5 in register rewards. I was hoping to stock up on the poptarts, but there wasn't 1 box in the store.

But, I still have the $5 rebate to mail in too! SO my total will be $21.09 figuring in the stamp! Not too bad for my first trip!

Stumble It!

Super Savings... Saturday!!!

Ok, so I was a little busy to post on Saturday what with the soccer game, dance practice, baseball practice & normal things like food & cleaning!

But I did run into CVS Saturday for a quick trip. I used my gift card from my points. Join MyPoints NOW!

I had a $25 card plus I had earned a $5 card from the Hershey promotion around Valentine's Day.

I picked up some Flintstones vitamins for the kids buy one get one 50% off minus the $2 I had in coupons & luckily I was able to take advantage of the "Contour Glucose Monitor" deal. It was on sale for $14.99 with $14.99 extra care bucks. I found a coupon for up to $30 off so it worked out that they paid me $14.99 to take the thing home & I found there is a mail in rebate on my box... hmmm so if I send that in I'll have $30 minus the postage... not to shabby! I think I might have spent a couple dollars out of pocket, but I had to buy an ice pack for out baseball bag & some wet wipes for the bathroom that weren't on sale. Still not too shabby for a 15 minute shopping trip with only a little planning.

The funny thing was I ran into my Mom at the checkout & gave her my other Contour coupon so she got the $14.99 too. She may think I'm nuts but she's got $14.99 she didn't before!!!

Super Saving Saturday (late!)

Check out other Money Saving Moms HERE.

I went to CVS Saturday after the Princess's dance class, boy did we do good. My oop was $0.80, I didn't use a single ECB but I earned over $50. I only did so good because I was able to get a Contour Breeze 2 Monitor which are on sale for $9.99 with $9.99 back ECB, plus there is a $50 coupon floating around (and a MIR up to $40). I bought 2 more of the Sambucol elderberry syrups that are $12.99 with $10 ECB (4 total). I can buy 1 more & I'm sending hubby to buy some too this month. If it does the job (keep us from getting as many colds) it'll be worth the $, plus it tastes good. And we are taking it daily now & 4 will not get us through cold season.

I also took advantage of the Nature's Bounty buy 1 get 1 deal with the $2 coupons plus the $3 ECBs, I made out! I picked up some Ginseng, Melatonin, Flaxseed & a B vitamin complex.

I remember my total before coupons was $85, so I think I might be getting the hang of this! The cashier did say that I won the award for best shopper, so at least they like me! Of course there are some at the same store that don't, but it's not like I'm doing anything wrong, just taking advantage of whats out there!

Tomorrow I am running for the cottonelle deal, some rubbermaid containers & of course more Tylenol!!!

Our Walgreen's is set to open in a couple months, wonder what that will be like???

I am also going to start using Ebates more for online purchases, mostly because I like the cash back option. Or you could Join MyPoints
and earn gift cards (CVS, Walmart, Old Navy, JCPenny are my first choices). I think we'll shop a lot more online mostly because our gas is OUTRAGEOUS right now & we are both working from home so why drive if ya don't have to!!!

I have $19.68 in Mail in Rebates & $19 Extra Care Bucks left.

Out of pocket was $39.43. So after I mail in the rebates my actual cost was $1.98 after 3 stamps. Wheeeew.

Not sure I can do this one again! It really helped that mid week I got the $5 off $30 purchase printables in my email.

I was able to get one of the Nova Max deals, they paid me $40 to take it. The Garnier I bought was $5.99 regular price with $10 ECB & I had 2 $2 coupons, so they paid me $2 to take those. Plus the Ameal was free after ECB & I had a $3 coupon, so made $3 on that item too.

According to the receipts I saved $244.90 off retail. I don't know why I didn't start doing this sooner.
