Making Money Online - Update

I haven't been doing very much in the way of internet or affiliate marketing lately, but it has been trickling in.

Google Adsense - I'm not sure if the "blogging the recession," clicking through helped me all that much, since I don't get paid per page view in any way. But, I do try to click on adsense ads when I visit. On my account - I am so close to getting my first Google check, I think by June it should be on it's way!

Inbox Dollars - It took a very long time to get a check, mostly because I only read emails. I do my shopping through MyPoints. The check came last week minus a $3 handling fee, the $27s went into my bank account!!!

MyPoints is sending me two $10 gift cards, that makes 5 for 2009! I've redeemed points for TJMaxx, JC Penney, and Wal-Mart cards.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope all you Mom's have a wonderful Sunday! I am taking my Mom to a chicken BBQ for lunch & then hopefully spending the day relaxing. We'll see. I somehow doubt I'll manage to just "relax" all day!

Garden - One of the Wisteria vines I planted the spring after we bought the house finally bloomed all over! It is amazing to sit on the porch & look at it!!!

The other vine is still a couple weeks behind, I hope I didn't lose it.

My Favorite Local Wines for the Holidays (or anytime)

There is one thing that I throw my "cheap" hat out the window for and that is wine! Don't get me wrong, sometimes a $10 jug will do, but I'll splurge on local wines if I can! By splurge I still don't spend over $20 (in fact it's usually under $15). New York state has some fabulous wineries & I am unlucky lucky enough to have the Chautauqua Wine Trail in my back yard! Most of our wines are available in our local wine & liquor stores so I can get a variety in one stop. Of course it is nice to stop into the winery, especially if you want to try before you buy!

Sparkling Ponds makes a few I enjoy but our favorite is the "Woman Pleaser" the splash of cranberry is a nice touch, very drinkable.

Vetter Vineyards is a small rural winery with a big selection of nice wines.
Brig Niagara and the Concord are 2 of my favorites.

On a wine trail tour a few years ago we discovered Willow Creek Wines had a Merlot that I could drink. That is an accomplishment, since I don't care for the dry oak-y stuff.

One of our older wineries has an annual Strawberry Festival and they make a Strawberry Festival Wine that is tasty & fun! They also make my current favorite Bella Rosa, it's a very nice semi-sweet red.

With New York making it more winery friendly in recent years, we have had several new ones that I haven't had a chance to visit yet (like 5 or so!) We'll get there some time I'm sure, guess I'll have to drag my Mom out for a couple stops some Sunday afternoon!!!

Busy Week Menu

Aren't we always busy! Well I start my new part time out of the house job, so until I get settled in that I'm sure it will throw a mild curve ball into our routines! Mostly laundry. I'm not sure how, but it seems like I am doing laundry 24-7!

The first football game is Saturday, practice every night. Plus we have to set up our shelter tent for a birthday party on Saturday (friend's house). The Prince starts school on the 3rd, the Princess the 9th.

So my plan for this week is basic & mostly out of the pantry.

Mac & Cheese with tuna and peas

CrackerBarrel's Hashbrown Casserole with meatloaf and a veggie.

Crockpot lasagna I have half a box of oven ready noodles, that's more than enough.

Freakin Awesome Zucchini Pancakes for breakfast night.

Busy Day Csserole with veggies.

I don't have the neighbor's kids this week, but I'm still going to make something for snacks. And I'll have to check the lunch item inventory!!!

I have a pantry list I keep of things I always have on hand, so really the only time I need a plan is when I am trying a recipe & there are things I don't have on hand. That isn't much though!

I got a recipe from this weeks Carnival of the recipes.

Check out other menus at I'm an organizing Junkie.

My Laundry Room Closet

I swore I had posted about this project before, but I can't find it now...

My coat closet may not be as pretty as the Organizing Junkie but when it's cleaned up it's functional. Barely, but hey details! I was hoping for more space to use the shelves & the top self is so high I can almost reach it using m y step ladder... It's become a good place for hubby to store his hunting gear.

We moved the dryer to carve out this space. When we moved in there was a table here for folding, but my old dryer wouldn't fit side by side with the washer. Now that I have 2 new appliances they fit in the proper space. Of course they usually look like this.

It's hard to fathom just how much this house has changed since we've moved into it. I hope it likes us! We rip out carpet and walls & paint over ugly wallpaper, bad owners!!!

I have no idea how I'm going to pare down our stuff when we sell. But the house we are moving to (maybe, someday, 3 years down the road...) is HALF the size of our space... I am just going to keep decluttering and hope that I can get rid of a lot in the auction my parents will HAVE to have when they move.

This room photographs well, the ugly purple paint doesn't look so ugly or purple in these pictures. Maybe I won't have to paint it! And I found the border at the dollar store, so I know the previous owners didn't spend a small fortune on this room to decorate it!

Blog the Recession

I read about this first at Adventures in Baby Wearing and then again today at 5 minutes for Mom.
The concept created by Mother hood Uncensored (and she is BTW!) is simply to click through your feeds & visit the site! Like she says, a jump in page views will at least boost egos!

Hey while your there browse a little, I try to click the adsense if it's there, I don't really do "donate" buttons, but a little PPC can't hurt anyone, right???

Enjoy the challenge & we'll get through this "recession" together!!!
