Monday Update and POWA

Parade of WEEKLY adventures!

We spent the entire weekend partying! Between our communities Fall Festival, football, the festival's parade and more.

Most of the kids activities were a wash due to the rainy weather, but they still had 2 party jumpers and some carnival games. We only had a small window of fun time on Saturday because of the Prince's football game, but they managed to get filthy and bounce them selves silly!

The parade on Sunday was a huge success, except for the rain again. It had fire departments, cheerleaders, football players (mine!), marching bands, Shriners, horses, even a float! There were prizes, but we didn't ever hear who won them.

I'm not sure what they are raising money for this year, but the last 2 years the committee made sizable donations to the new playground project (my hubby got the grant to get that ball rolling, so we were invested!).

Weekly Menu Plan
Breakfast for dinner, clean out the fridge night, mystery freezer stuff, spaghetti, hot dogs & burgers. No idea what order, depends on the activities!!!

Tackle it Tuesday #18

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I am tackling a few things right now!
~ My desk, the pile is stuff, but it is in file folders!
1. Coupons
2. Resumes
3. To be filed
4. Mail

The rest is mostly cleared off! WooohooO!

~ The house
  • 1. We inherited my parents hot tub, so this week has been all about cleaning it, setting it up, filling it, only to find it needs a part we have to have shipped.... Hurry up and wait, I just love it!
  • 2. I have a home inspection today with social services. The kids I babysit for are "funded" so I had to set up a "daycare" account. They are just coming to make sure I have a "safe" environment.
  • 3. Laundry - mostly putting it away, I really need to stop being bad at that part of it. I don't mind the washing & drying...
  • 4. Surfaces - I know they are evil, but nothing is sacred here, not even chairs or the couch. If it's flat they will put something on it!
~Hamster cages
  • We lost Mater to a prison escape last month, this week we lost Princess to an unknown illness we have given her a proper burial. But now I have 3 empty hamster cages to deal with. Think I'll just put them in the basement until we are ready for new ones. Maybe the chipmunks can use them as condos.
~Lists
  1. We have recently made a HUGE decision to sell this house in 3 years and buy my parents. They are building a new house on property they own. I have a feeling that I will spend the next 3 years finding ways to fix up this house without spending much money & convincing my Mom to let me take down the blue wallpaper on her dime LOL! We are already working together on a new exterior paint scheme. Of course I will be the one painting! Oh yea & the carpet in the kitchen HAS to go!
  2. I start an out of the home job on Monday! It's part time office help, at a non-profit organization. It's flexible, I get to do all the stuff I like in an office setting & I get paid for it!
  3. So my lists are all the things I have to get done in the next week, and all the things the house NEEDS in the next 3 years! It really could be 2 years, but we've also thought about not selling this house & keeping it as rental property. It also depends on how fast my Parents new house gets built. It's a DIY job, so it won't be up in 2 weeks! But they have already started hard core acquiring of lumber.
~Football practice
~Cleaning out the freezers & fridge this week, mostly to avoid shopping, but also because there is all kinds of weird stuff in there!

It's going to be a busy week here at the Money Pit. You can check out other great tackles at 5 Minutes for Mom.

PODA update

So, it's been too humid to weed, it wouldn't be so bad if there was any amount of shade to be had! That's the only bad with full sun exposure! And of course since it's on my list of things to do I haven't touched the apartment side of the house, I did paint the trim on our side porch though. I even washed out my brush and container! Woohoo!!! We are preparing to re-do the screen and install a sliding screen door, so that needs to be painted before we hang screening.

I am off to spray paint one of my wicker chairs, then I need a break!

Friday Parade of Events 7-25

We are having friends over tonight so we are in crisis cleaning mode! It's not so bad, but still disheveled from the hamster search. We haven't given up, but the probability of his return is low. My biggest fear is that he managed to join up with the troupe of chipmunks that torment us and have an elaborate tunnel system in our back yard.

~Mow
~Laundry (always)

~Dinner - Friends are bringing, I'm not supposed to make anything, I'm sure I'll find something to make

Thursday Parade of Adventures 7-24

~Golf lessons for boy& hubby (he just watches) The Prince has natural talent. He can drive the ball farther than I can already & he earned his first $2 at the last lesson, so he's already a pro. They had a putting competition, he beat everyone in the class (even the 13 year old). So he may not be the next Tiger, but club pros make a decent living!

~Laundry (ALWAYS)
~Dishes, sink & dishwasher
~Hamster still MIA
~Check garden, pull a few weeds
~Dinner, I have no idea yet, thinking chicken helper since I have a box & chicken handy!

~Spend 15 minutes decluttering zone 4 (master bedroom)
~Zone 4 mission - 15 more minutes attacking the clothes pile
~Zone 4 mission (Thursday) - clear off dressers

~Remake The Princess's bed, she had a potty accident yesterday ;-(.
I can't complain it's her first real bed accident. Hers were usually issues with clothing removal standing in the bathroom!

~figure out who has my hubby's immunization record, since his Dr.'s office doesn't, useless people, he's only been a patient there since the late 80s...

~Find surfaces in the house, they all seem to be cluttered with something...
~Run to the store (or drive), need wiper blades for the van, deposit a few $s into my new bank account, add $ to my cell phone, etc, etc, etc.

Wednesday Parade of Events

Yesterday we washed two vehicles and cleaned them inside and out, so most of my list didn't get completed, started, just not finished. I'm ok with that though because my VAN LIVES!!! We traded the old car for the towing and $ off the repairs of the van. So I have my van back, after 11 months of waiting. We took it to a different mechanic and a week later & for $500 less it is on the road! WooHoo. So after sitting in a weedy lot for 11 months I needed to clean the van inside and out. Plus my brother is taking the Blazer we've been borrowing to Canada later today, so I washed it & vacuumed that up (not really for him, but my kids are messy in vehicles).

~Summer Rec for boy
~Laundry
~Dishes, sink & dishwasher
~Hamster still MIA
~Weed garden (this is a new daily chore, yuck!)

clear off and wipe down counters. (finish, got this started yesterday)
Vacuum up flour I left it for an extra day but I'm tired of the icky mess.

Calls -
Dr.s office to get the Prince a football physical before the 11th. OF course they scheduled the group ones tonight during the baseball awards.
